33 - EDG 2020 Opening 6 Feb 2021.jpg

4 February - 25 March 2021

edg2020 Gallery opened its doors on 4 February 2021 in Kyalami, Midrand. Besides providing a full catalogue of works online, the Gallery space provides the opportunity of experiencing the physical works; to engage with the artists during special events; discuss purchases with the curator; and meet with other art lovers, artists and collectors.

The artists’ work on the Launch exhibition provides an overview of our vision for edg2020 Gallery to showcase good quality contemporary art that engages with the diverse world of South Africans. The artworks exhibited engage mainly with space; framing and vision; dystopia; personal tribute; environmental concern; and the covid pandemic. The artists are gender and culture inclusive and they hail from the very north of the country (Lucas Thobejane) to the very south (Alta Botha) and places in between.

By clicking on the artworks shown below you can read more about the artist and the work itself. An artist's statement as well as find a short bio of the artist is provided.
