Who we are and What we do

edg2020 Gallery opened its physical premises on 4 February 2021. It is located in Barbecue Bend right next to the Kyalami Circuit and opposite Kyalami Estate. We are conveniently situated in-between the metropolitan areas of Tshwane and Johannesburg, but include artists' work from all over South Africa from the very north to the south. We serve our clientele nationally and internationally through both our physical and online presence.

edg2020 showcases contemporary South African art of good technical quality that holds promise of good investment value. We curate art that engages with a diversity of issues pertaining to the world of South Africans, such as gender and identity; environmental concern; redress and decoloniality; trauma and violence; personal and social engagement; life in and outside the city; and African Modernism. Artist participation is by invitation and selection.

The Gallery Curator has curating experience of more than 30 years in the South African art industry and academic tertiary sector. In 2005 she founded Fried Contemporary Art Gallery & Studio in Pretoria and was its Curator until 2014 when the Gallery was sold as a successful going concern. This Gallery was selected as one of the Top 10 contemporary galleries in South Africa and was held in high repute due to its integrity and high level of expertise in dealing with artists and buyers. This is still our motto. An additional function of the Gallery is to exhibit, source, curate and install  artworks for corporates, embassies, private homes and art festivals. We provide advice and inspection reports, as well as art brokering and acquisition advice to art collectors.

Join the global interest in this category of art investment.

Due to Covid Level 3 regulations as well as the surging fourth wave of covid cases, the Gallery is changing its visitation hours as follows:

Since its inception in February 2021 the Gallery has maintained a full online presence listing and detailing work from current and past exhibitions. We do have a few works in our Collection Room that are not listed online. These are works brought in for fringe exhibitions, from artists' studios or resales from private collections. Please visit www.edg2020.com/shop.

The Gallery is physically open on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.

From Monday to Friday the Gallery can be visited by appointment between 9 am and 5 pm. In this regard please contact the following people:
